Changes in My Hometown
I used to live in a small town with trees all around. There was no tall building and the only street was narrow. People did all their work by hands and without machines. Children studied in old school. People lived a simple but hard life.
However, now great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. You can see tall buildings, big department stores and factories everywhere. Most of jobs are done by modern machines. What’s more, children study in modern schools. The life of the people is greatly improved.
I love my hometown. I hope it can become richer and more beautiful.
How to be a greener person
The environment problem has become more and more serious in recent years. It’s our duty to protect the environment around us.
First, we should turn off the lights when we are not using them. Second, we shouldn’t use plastic bags. Third, we should protect plants and animals. Fourth, we shouldn’t throw rubbish everywhere. Last but not least, we should prevent factories from pouring waste water and produce terrible gas.
We have only one earth. We must keep our environment clean and tidy. We must try our best to protect her, and make our home more beautiful.
The Importance of Learning English
It’s very important for us to learn English well. English is the most widely used language in the world. It is also used as an international language. It’s spoken by more than 400 million people as their first language. Many countries use English as a foreign language. English is widely used for international business. Chinese use English as a second language. China’s reform and opening-up policy, China’s entry into WTO and the 2008 Olympic Games encourage more and more Chinese to learn English. So we must try our best to learn English well and make a contribution(作貢獻(xiàn)) to building our country better.
The Ways of Learning English
With the development of China, learning English is becoming more and more important. However, some Chinese learners are still weak in English. How to learn English well is a big problem. Now I will introduce some methods.
First, preview the lessons before classes, take notes in classes and review them after class. Second, watching English movies or listening to English songs are also good methods. Third, we can join the English club or English corner to practice English. Fourth, we can read English magazines or newspapers to improve reading. Last but not least, learning English well has a long way to go, we should keep on trying and never give up.
