Madam Curie was one of the greatest women in the world.
Born in a teacher’s family in 1867, Madam Curie led a hard life childhood. In 1895, she married Pierre, another French physicist, and
three years later, they discovered Ra. She was given the Nobel Prize in 1903 and 1911 for her contribution to science. Sadly, in 1906 her husband died from an accident. On July 4th, 1937, she passed away because of the radioactive substance.
Madam Curie devoted herself to the research of radioactive substances and cared little for money. She was spoken highly of because she had set a good example to the world.
Zhang Jun is one of my best friends. He is a sunny boy with a smile on his face. He is a bit fat but he cares little about this. Instead, he would call himself a Fat Ball.
He loves to travel all around during holidays. Last summer, he went to many places of interest in Beijing. He also likes to write journals when traveling, many of which have even been published in our school news-paper. And I enjoy sharing his experiences and the photos that he has taken.
I’ve learnt a lot from him. He sets a good example for me as he is always challenging himself.
