　　相傳有一年，魯班接受了一項(xiàng)建筑一座巨大宮殿的任務(wù)。這座宮殿需要很多木料，他和徒弟們只好上山用斧頭砍木，當(dāng)時還沒有鋸子，效率非常低。一次上山的時候，由于他不小心，無意中抓了一把山上長的一種野草，卻一下子將手劃破了。魯班很奇怪，一根小草為什么這樣鋒利?于是他摘下了一片葉子來細(xì)心觀察，發(fā)現(xiàn)葉子兩邊長著許多小細(xì)齒，用手輕輕一摸，這些小細(xì)齒非常鋒利。他明白了，他的手就是被這些小細(xì)齒劃破的。后來，魯班又看到一條大蝗蟲在一株草上啃吃葉子，兩顆大板牙非常鋒利，一開一合，很快就吃下一大片。這同樣引起了魯班的好奇心，他抓住一只蝗蟲，仔細(xì)觀察蝗蟲牙齒的結(jié)構(gòu)，發(fā)現(xiàn)蝗蟲的兩顆大板牙上同樣排列著許多小細(xì)齒，蝗蟲正是靠這些小細(xì)齒來咬斷草葉的。這兩件事給了魯班很大啟發(fā)。于是他就用大毛竹做成一條帶有許多小鋸齒的竹片，然后到小樹上去做試驗(yàn)，結(jié)果果然不錯，幾下子就把樹桿劃出一道深溝，魯班非常高興。但是由于竹片比較軟，強(qiáng)度比較差，不能長久使用，拉了一會兒，小鋸齒就有的斷了，有的變鈍了，需要更換竹片。魯班想到了鐵片，便請鐵匠幫助制作帶有小鋸齒的鐵片。魯班和徒弟各拉一端，在一棵樹上拉了起來，只見他倆一來一往，不一會兒就把樹鋸斷了，又快又省力，鋸就這樣發(fā)明了。

　　這告訴我們一個道理，留意生活中許多不起眼的小事，勤干思考，會增長許多智慧。
